Your first six weeks in trading: the map, not the maze

Cover: trading feels like a maze, here is the mapWeeks one to six: setup, key words, live training and risk habitsAfter six weeks you set your own pace

Trading feels like a maze when you are new: too many terms, too many charts, no obvious place to start. We give new members a map instead. Step one, step two, step three, no dead ends. Here is what the first six weeks look like, and what happens after that.

Weeks one and two: setup and first trades

The first fortnight is about getting set up and placing your first trades, done with us, live. You will learn the five key words that every idea uses: entry, stop-loss, take-profit, lot size, and buy or sell. By the end of week two the platform should feel familiar and you should know what each line of a trade idea means and where it goes.

Weeks three to six: live training and risk habits

From week three the focus moves to understanding why. Live training sessions show how we read the gold chart, in plain English, with real charts. Alongside that, two risk habits become routine: the same lot size on every trade, and a stop-loss on every single position. Those two habits do more to protect a new account than any clever strategy.

After that, your pace

Once the foundations are in, the pace is yours. Keep following the trade ideas, keep learning the why behind them. Some members go deep into analysis and eventually make their own calls. Others keep it simple and stick with the ideas. Both are fine. If you want the map for your own first six weeks, message us and we will walk you through it.

Key takeaways

Common questions

How long does it take to learn gold trading basics?

The foundations take about six weeks with us: setup and vocabulary first, then chart reading and risk habits. Learning continues after that at your own pace.

What should a beginner trader learn first?

The five key words (entry, stop-loss, take-profit, lot size, buy or sell) and two habits: a consistent lot size and a stop on every trade.
