Almost every new trader makes the same three mistakes, and the third one is usually the most expensive. In this short guide we explain what each mistake looks like in a live gold trade, why it costs beginners so much, and the simple habit that replaces it. None of this is complicated, but it needs doing from day one.
A stop-loss is an order that closes your trade automatically if the price moves against you by a set amount. Without one, a single bad move can take a big piece of your account before you have even noticed. Gold can travel a long way in a short time, so an open trade with no exit level is a risk you do not need to carry.
Every trade idea we send includes a stop-loss alongside the entry and take-profit, and we show new members how to set it on MT5. Deciding your exit before you enter turns an unknown loss into a planned, limited one. That is the single biggest difference between a beginner who lasts and one who does not.
Lot size decides how much each movement in the gold price is worth to you. A lot size that is too large for your account turns a normal, expected loss into a painful one, and a run of two or three losses into a serious problem. Beginners often pick a size by guesswork, or copy a size that suits a much bigger account.
We help every member pick a lot size that fits their own balance, so a stopped-out trade stings a little but never threatens the account. Small, fixed sizing while you learn is what lets you stay in the game long enough to get better at it.
After a loss, many people jump straight into another trade to recover the money. This is the expensive one. The next trade is usually rushed, oversized and taken without a clear setup, which is exactly how small losses become big ones. The fix is to stick to the plan: take the next idea only when it arrives, at the same size as before. Our free community and twice-weekly live training are built around these habits.
Most beginner losses come from a few repeated habits: trading without a stop-loss, using lot sizes that are too large, and jumping back in after a loss to recover it. Fixing those three removes a lot of the damage.
Accept that losses are part of any trading plan, keep each one small with a stop-loss, and only take the next trade when a clear setup appears. Having a team to message after a loss also helps.

Twice a week we open the gold chart live and trade in front of members. Here is exactly what happens in a session and why beginners get so much from it.

If a trading group promises you will make money, asks for upfront fees or tells you to trade money you need, be careful. Three lines we will never use.

Before your first gold trade, five things need to be ready on your phone: MT5, Telegram, a verified broker account, sensible funding and notifications on.
